The IOLTA Honor Roll
Vermont attorneys and law firms can help advance the access to justice cause by establishing and maintaining their IOLTA accounts at a bank or credit union which commits to offering favorable interest rate treatment on IOLTA accounts, waives routine service charges and supports civil legal aid to low-income Vermonters.
The Vermont Bar Foundation gratefully acknowledges the following leadership banks and credit unions (current as of March 2010):
GOLD LEVEL LEADERSHIP BANKS OR CREDIT UNIONS
These institutions offer an annual net yield of 2.0% or higher and tie their deposit rate to a recognized market indicator.*
- Bank of Bennington
- Brattleboro Savings & Loan Association
- KeyBank
- Mascoma Savings Bank
- New England Federal Credit Union
- Passumpsic Savings Bank
- TD Bank
- Vermont State Employees Credit Union
SILVER LEVEL LEADERSHIP BANKS OR CREDIT UNIONS
These institutions offer an annual net yield of 2.0% or higher.
- Northfield Savings Bank
BRONZE LEVEL LEADERSHIP BANKS OR CREDIT UNIONS
These institutions offer an annual net yield of 1.5%.
- Chittenden Bank, a division of Peoples United
- Community National Bank
- Merchants Bank
*Gold level institutions offer IOLTA rates tied to a recognized market indicator less an established number of basis points. For example, a gold tier bank or credit union may be tied to the 91-day Treasury bill less 100 basis points. If the 91-day Treasury bill rate is 4%, they will provide a 3.0% interest rate on IOLTA accounts.
Thank you, Vermont banks and credit unions, for your continued support of the IOLTA program.

The Vermont Bar Foundation reserves the right to adjust its Honor Roll tiers based on changing market conditions, and reviews its Honor Roll on a quarterly basis.
